Eleven sightseers, all clearly Mexican citizens, were killed in a transport crash Monday on an expressway south of the resort town of Tulum.
Powers said eight ladies, two men and a 2-month-old child passed on when the transport flipped on the grass in favor of the parkway in Mexico's Caribbean coast condition of Quintana Roo. A few different travelers were harmed.
The cause was still under scrutiny. The state criminologists' office said the transport driver had not been found and may have fled.
The transport was conveying travelers from Mexico's Gulf coast condition of Veracruz to the resort of Cancun.
