Man from Metairie killed while boating near Grand Isle

A Metairie man passed on early Sunday morning when he hit his head on a heaping while boating near Grand Isle, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries operators said.

Robert Sims, 44, was on a 28-foot watercraft going at a high rate of pace in Caminada Pass when he inclined out of the vessel to serve as a post, as indicated by a Wildlife and Fisheries report. The mischance happened around 1 a.m. at the point when the vessel was en route to Port Fourchon. 

Sims' demise was the third on southeast Louisiana waters Sunday. 

A 5-year-old Houma kid suffocated after he and his dad bounced from their vessel on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway when they dreaded being struck by a tugboat pushing scows. Ethan Hancock's body was found around 7 a.m. Sunday. He was wearing an existence vest, the Coast Guard said. 

A New Orleans man suffocated when he fell into the Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet while attempting to secure his vessel. David LeBlanc Jr., 64, was conveyed to St. Bernard Parish Hospital where he was declared dead.
